Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Hanoi Arrival 

Xin Chao! Welcome to Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam!
HIT Vietnam tour guide welcomes you at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi city) then transfer to your hotel in the city center. Check in and have sometimes to relax after a long-haul flight. During the time left of the day, you enjoy an introduction talk to Vietnam’s fascinating past by our tour guide and a welcome dinner at a nice restaurant in the city center. Overnight  in Hanoi

Day 02: Hanoi City Tour 

Breakfast is at your hotel, our tour guide and driver will meet you the lobby and have a full day city tour:
This morning, we will start to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum complex( Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Presidential palace, one pillar pagoda, HCM museum)and move to Van Mieu (the temple of literature). This is the first university in Vietnam where "born" a lot of talent persons for our country in the past.
Ethnology museum will not be missed, there, you will understand more about our culture lives of 54 minority groups in Vietnam. Enjoy the fresh and peaceful place in this outside museum.
Get back to the old quarter to visit Ngoc Son temple that located in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy the walking tour around the old quarter to discover the local life. Late evening, being transferred to Hanoi railway station for night train to Lao Cai. You spend the night in a shared 4 bed AC Cabin - a private cabin is available on your request

Day 03: Lao Cai station arrival – uphill to Sapa 

Wake early and marvel at the remarkable scenery as you roll into Lao Cai station - 30km from Sapa town. On arrival at around 5am, be picked up and transferred uphill to Sapa town, enjoy breakfast before exploring this scenic and cultural area of French style town - Sapa. Today visit Sapa’s market to see traders selling their wares, walk to the top of Ham Rong Mountain and marvel at the scenic panorama from this hilltop location. Visit a local ethnic minority village – Ta Phin - to gain an insight into the life and culture of these unique hill tribes. Return to your hotel late afternoon and overnight. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 04: Sapa’s villages or local market – train to Hanoi 

Get up in the foggy morning and enjoy your breakfast. The pure atmosphere and stunning scenery of highland town, Sapa will help you freshen up. Depends on the date we have two options: to visit ethnic minority villages around Sapa or drive to Bac Ha market on Sunday, Coc Ly market on Tuesday or Can Cau Market on Saturday. There, you can watch and even join trading activities of real hill-tribe people. Luncheon served at local restaurant. Say goodbye to peaceful and quiet town, Sapa and ride back to Lao Cai Railway Station for a night train back to Hanoi. You spend the night in a shared 4 bed AC Cabin - a private cabin is available on your request .

Day 05: Hanoi - Ha Long  bay - overnight on cruise 

Arrive in Hanoi early morning, check in the hotel nearby the gate of the railway station, relax and enjoy breakfast there.
After breakfast, we will depart directly to the city of Quang Ninh and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Upon arrival of Halong bay port; check in to your private cabin on traditional Halong bay junk. The junk sets sail while you enjoy some welcome drink and see off the busy seaport. The cruise enters the bay with a short brief of cruise manager then you will have a sumptuous seafood lunch and spend the afternoon cruising passing the many limestone peaks and islands that form this picturesque Halong bay of Vietnam. Relax on the deck of the cruise this afternoon and overnight onboard.

Day 06: Halong bay – Hanoi 

Wake early as the mist rises over the Halong bay, an ideal time to take pictures. Enjoy breakfast and continue your Halong cruise trip, after the brunch then clear bill while returning to shore. Our vehicle picks you up at the Halong port then transfer back to Hanoi, en route visit at Dong Trieu Ceramic Village to get some souvenirs handicrafts. Arrive in Hanoi late afternoon. Check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 07: Hanoi - fly to Sai gon

Free time until transferring to Noi Bai airport and get ready for the flight to the South center of Vietnam - Sai gon (Ho Chi Minh city since 1976).
You arrive in Sai gon after 2 hours flight. Our guide picks you up at the airport and drives downtown for starting an oriented tour around the city.
We will spend time for historical sites like Reunification Palace - the symbol of our country reunification and independence, War Remnant Museum, where displays the evidence of the Vietnamese wartime. You may want to travel nearby for some colonial buildings such as North Dame Cathedral and Post office.
Go back to the hotel for checking in and relax.

Day 08: Saigon - Ben Tre day boat trip

Depart from Saigon around 8am and head south to Ben Tre province, famous for its coconut production and quiet, peaceful waterways.
On arrival, take a Xe loi ride through the local village of Huu Dinh to enjoy the green fields and gardens. Continue with a short walk to Huu Phuoc Bridge then board on the boat, enjoy a welcome drink and tropical fruits while cruising.
The cruise will first stop at a Coconut processing family owned business. Here you will learn what Ben Tre is known for and the hundreds of uses of each single coconut. Return to your boat and cruise across the water to a brick making factory. Enjoy a casual cycling trip that will take you to visit a local rice noodle factory which produces Hu Tieu noodles, one of the most popular Vietnamese dishes in the region. After your visit taking a short walk to one of our friends, Mrs. Huong, who lives with her 3 children and grandson – they live on fishing, shrimp, and fruit orchards. Enjoy fresh fruits and tea and then board a rowing sampan taking you through a lush narrow canal, displaying the tranquil nature of the region. 
After our team rows you through the quiet canal, reconnect with your Day Cruiser and enjoy a cruise to a private riverside restaurant. Relax and have a walk around the lush garden setting.  
Then continue your cycling trip to My Long to visit Mr. Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Then visit the nearby house of Mr. Hung, who is a famous sticky rice maker in the village. You can also feed his stock of catfish and walk through his fruit garden.
After the visit, the boat will be waiting for you at the pier nearby to bring you back to Ben Tre city for your homestay. Check in your homestay and enjoy cooking time with the host.

Day 09: Ben Tre - Cai Be – Homestay

After breakfast with the host, we say goodbye and take a short transfer to the Cai Be pier, where we are about to discover some upper part of Mekong stream.
The program will start with a visit of Cai Be colorful floating market cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Then, an optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, and pop-rice, pop-corn ... 
It is so interesting to visit the handicraft village where you can see how they make some special products: making rice-net for spring rolls, fish sauce & soy sauce, sewing coconut leaves for cottage roof...The optional lunch will be served at local house 
After lunch, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and to enjoy the peaceful time. It is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see some activities of the local farmers with an opportunity to make contacts with them and see how they catch fish. 
Have some fruits and tea when enjoying the traditional music at Ut Trinh home. Check in Ut Trinh homestay (or other homestays on An Binh Island). 
One more option for you if you like biking! It will be so amazing to bike on village paths to see the local farms, houses, real life and the ancestral ways to pick up fruits in Mekong Delta... Cooking some dishes with the owners. We enjoy dinner & overnight at homestay.

Day 10: Cai Be - Vinh Long – Sa Dec – Saigon 

Have a breakfast and walk around the village to enjoy the fresh air in the morning. Boat trip to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. 
Our boat will go along the floating village. We will learn how to farm catfish on Mekong river.  Also, we can visit Vinhlong market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables...The cruise will end at Vinh Long city
Around 4PM, transfer back to Saigon City. Spend your last night in Vietnam with the busy nightlife of the biggest city in Vietnam.

Day 11: Sai gon - fly to Phnom Penh (Cambodia)

Free time at your own pace. Our guide and driver will transfer to the airport for a flight to Cambodia, the land of giant Angkor. Upon arrival, our tour HIT Indochina’s guide will welcome you at International Airport and transfer to the hotel. 
Visit National Museum, over 5000 objects are on display including Angkorian era status, lingas, and other artifacts. Visit Royal Palace is a royal residence now where His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal families live. it is like a small town of royal dynasties. Continue to Silver Pagoda, serves less as a functioning temple than a repository for cultural treasures such as 90 kg golden Buddha encrusted with 2086 diamonds. Finally, visit Wat Phnom Temple is one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Penh. Built in 1373 on an artificial hill by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh.
Enjoy welcome dinner at the nice restaurant. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 12: Phnom Penh – Kampot 

Departure to Kampot and en-rout stop to visit Tonle Bati is a lake and popular picnic spot; there are two Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm and Yeay Peau, both of which offer some interesting bas-reliefs in fairly good condition. Both temples were built under Jayavaraman VII in the late 12th century. 
Visit Prasat Neang Khmau, consist of two deteriorating brick Prasats (towers) built in Angkorian-era in the 10th century A.D. Under King Jayavarman IV. Take a boat from Takeo town to Phnom Da, a pre-Angkorian laterite tower (6th century) with some carvings in good condition. The temple was constructed under King Rudravarman and dedicated to Shiva. Continue to Kampot and upon arrival, we check in hotel and relax.

Day 13: Kampot – Sihanouk Ville

Visit Phnom Chngouk Temple, located about 8 km east of Kampot. There is brick temple within the cave that dates back to the Funan period. It has over the course of millions of year, grown into an almost perfect linga. 
Continue to Sihanouk Ville. Upon arrival check in your hotel. Free at leisure and Overnight in Sihanouk Ville

Day 14: Sihanouk Ville – free day at beach

Today enjoy for free at your leisure to soak up the sun and sand at Sihanouk Ville’s beautiful white beaches.

Day 15: Sihanouk Ville – Phnom Penh

Free at leisure, enjoy the last swimming at a beautiful beach. Check out your hotel around lunch time. Afternoon, drive back to Phnom Penh, upon arrival check in your hotel.

Day 16: Phnom Penh – Kampong Thom - Siem Reap

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for Kampong Thom province and make a half way brief stop at Skun village for photography of local deep fried spiders then continue to visit Sambor Prei Kuk. It is a former capital and was previously named Ey San Borak, built during the reign of King Isanavarman I in the 7th century.
Lunch at local restaurant. Continue journey to Siem Reap, en-route stop at Naga Bridge (Spean Prabthes) was built by King Jayavarman VII in the 12th century by laterite stone.

Day 17: Siem Reap – Angkor Tour

Today, start to visit Angkor Thom, the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, built from the late 12th century to the early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII and consists of 54 towers, the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, then visit Ta Prohm, surrounded by jungle. 
Visit Angkor Wat, the largest temples in the world and covers an area of 200 hectares and surrounded by a moat and an exterior wall measuring 1300 meters x 1500 meters. Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 18: Siem Reap – Angkor Tour

Enjoy your breakfast at a hotel. Then transfer to visit Banteay Srei, constructed in the late 10th century by a Brahmin counselor under a power king Rajendarvarman. It was loosely translated to the citadel of the woman, but it is a modern appellation that probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. En-route stop at Pre Rub (turn the body), was constructed in late 10th century dedicated to Hindu gods. This reflects the common belief among Cambodians that funerals were conducted at the temple.
Visit Preah Khan temple, built by King Jayavarman VII dedicated to his father. It is a huge, highly exportable monastic complex, and served as a Buddhist monastery and school, engaging over 1000 monks. Continue to Neak Pean, a small island temple located in the middle of the last Baray, constructed by a Khmer king in the Angkor area.

Day 19: Siem Reap Departure

Free at the " Old market " where you have a chance to understand about the local life.
Get back to your hotel in time to meet our driver for transfer to airport for flight to the next destination.
