Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) Arrival 

Xin chào! Welcome to Sai gon - the commercial hub of Vietnam!
Arrive in Saigon, Vietnam’s commercial heart, and largest city. Transfer to your hotel, followed by a tour briefing, welcome drinks and your first taste of Vietnamese cuisine for dinner. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 02: Saigon city tour full day 

A full day to explore the center of Vietnam’s southern and center of commerce. Tour starts with a visit to some of Saigon’s most colorful architecture and historical legacies on visits to the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Central Post Office. Then Independence Palace and Ben Thanh Market just nearby. Free the rest of the day and your dinner. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 03: Saigon - My Tho - Can Tho 

Get off the Highway 1 at Tan An town and head to Tam Vu and Cho Gao then My Tho (85km). Some en-rout stops let you see farmers working at paddy fields. A short boat ride to cross the upper Mekong to Ben Tre then being transferred to small sampans to get through some green, lush, picturesque and Amazon-like creeks. Call on some local families to see how they make coconut candies by hands. Lunch will be served at a local’s orchard. Continue our journey to Can Tho with a pleasant drive (90m). Arrive in Can Tho then check in hotel. Overnight at Can Tho

Day 04: Floating market visit - Chau Doc 

Early boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market, enjoy coffee and fruits at the market and watch the locals’ world goes by from our boat. Head to Long Xuyen for lunch (50km) and a quick break to visit the beautiful Theravada Khmer Buddhist Temple of Xvayton at Tri Ton (60km). Then we keep our drive to the border gate town, Chau Doc. The day ends with wonderful moments of the sunset over Sam mountain in Chau Doc. This mountain top offers you beautiful views of rice fields towards both Vietnam and Cambodia. Check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 05: Tra Su Forest exploration

An early drive to Tra Su forest and start a boat trip to where includes an 845ha special-purpose forest surrounded by a 645ha buffer zone. It is the habitat for many colonies of water birds, bats and various others such as rare and endangered animals and reptile species. 
The jungle is hardly touched by human and you may encounter hundred type of birds here. There are many ways to discover the jungle like hiking, motorcycling or boating. But we offer boating because this is the best way to go into a small alley of the jungle. We enjoy picnic lunch right inside the jungle and spend some free time here.
Transfer back to Sai gon this afternoon. Free time and relax.

Do you know? - There is another option for this day, you take the morning speed boat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh that takes about 4.5 hours. Spend the afternoon for a short city exploration and overnight in Phnom Penh. You can contact us to compare those two options.

Day 06: Sai gon – fly to Siem Reap (Cambodia)                                               

Welcome to Siem  Reap, our HIT Indochina’s tour guide and driver meet and welcome you at the Siem Reap airport and then transfer to your hotel for check-in. We start to visit one of the earliest capitals in the Angkor area is Roluos Group with Preah Ko, Bakong & Lolei temples
Afternoon, we visit Preah Khan is one of the largest complexes at Angkor, was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century. Sister temple to Ta Prohm and then we continue to Neak Pean temple, it has a large square pool surrounded by four smaller square pools. 
Enjoy a welcome dinner with a traditional dancing at a nice restaurant in the evening.

Day 07: Siem Reap - Angkor Tour

This morning, we visit Ta Prohm, was a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of Jayavarman VII. It is one of the few temples in the Angkor region where an inscription provides information about the temple’s dependents and inhabitants, continue to visit Takeo, built by Jayavarman V, it was dedicated to Shiva and was the first Angkorian monument built entirely of sandstone. We also visit Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon temples. 
Afternoon, we visit Banteay Srei, construction on Banteay Srei began in 967 and it is one of the few temples around Angkor not to be commissioned by a king, but by a Brahman who may have been a tutor to Jayavarman V. Banteay Srei means “Citadel of the Women” and it is said that it must have been built by a woman, as the elaborate carvings are too fine for the hand of a man. Continue to visit Banteay Samre, built by King Suryavarman II and dates from the same period as Angkor Wat and enjoy the sunset from Phnom Bakheng.

Day 08: Siem Reap – Departure 

After breakfast, we journey to the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, this is the most famous temple at Angkor.
In the afternoon, visit Angkor Thom, built by King Jayavarman VII. Following the occupation of Angkor by the Chams from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire, visit Terrace of the Leper King, Terrace of Elephants, Baphuon and Bayon temples.
